Other Variations in Open Book Account Terms
While there is considerable scope for variation within the normal procedure of open book account credit (primarily by shortening or lengthening the period allowed for payment), other variations are also found. Some of these are employed because of the weak financial condition of the customer, as is the case of the special conditions discussed below; others are more often a result of the particular characteristics of the line of business.
